Migrant women refusing
food
BURNABY - Several dozen migrant women from
China are now in day three of their hunger strike.
Most of the migrants being held at the Burnaby Correctional
Centre for Women are refusing solid food.
Victor Wong heads the Vancouver Association of Chinese Canadians.
He says he doesn't know exactly how many women are on the hunger
strike, which began Saturday.
One refugee claimant says immigration officials tried to force
her to sign documents without having a lawyer present.
