Caplan's visit to China to address migrants
Ottawa -- Immigration Minister Elinor Caplan is heading to China to try to stem the tide of Chinese migrants showing up on Canada's West Coast. The minister takes off April 20 for China and plans to visit several areas, including the Fujian province, the home of many Chinese migrants who travelled to British Columbia last summer. Ms. Caplan is exected to warn people against risking their lives by to get to Canada, only to be welcomed by detention and possible deportation. CP |
